AdKit Alternatives for Shopify Merchants: 6 Ads MCPs Compared

AdKit alternatives: ads MCP servers compared

Looking for AdKit alternatives? Your real options in 2026: two free official MCP servers from Meta and Google, the paid multi-platform field (Pipeboard, Adspirer, Markifact, Ryze), and Agency AI if you run a Shopify store. Which one fits depends on whether you need competitor intel, campaign control, or store-aware analysis.

Every price and capability below was checked on each vendor's own site on August 4, 2026. Where a company describes its own product, that is labeled as their claim.

None of these replaces your AI subscription. An MCP is a connector: you still ask the questions from your own Claude or ChatGPT account, and the tiers those tools require differ, which matters more than most comparison pages admit.

What AdKit Actually Does Well

AdKit is a competitor intelligence tool first and an ads MCP second. Its core is an ad library the company says holds 500k+ creatives, with competitor tracking across Meta, Google and LinkedIn, plus an AI ads generator and a swipe file. The MCP and CLI are included on every plan, so your AI agent can use those tools directly.

Two things it gets genuinely right. Pricing is flat with unlimited tool calls, $29 a month for one project or $49 for multiple projects, each with a 7 day trial. And writes are draft-first by default: campaigns your agent creates sit in AdKit's dashboard until you approve them, with per-connection permission levels from read-only up to draft plus publish.

The honest limits: it is priced per project, so an agency managing several brands pays per brand or takes the higher tier. Its account management covers Meta, Google, TikTok and Reddit per its own docs, which is narrower than the six platforms its marketing pages mention. And it has no store context. It sees your ads, not your products, margins or orders.

The Free Official Options

Meta's Ads MCP shipped April 29, 2026 as an open beta at mcp.facebook.com/ads, and it is the single biggest reason the paid field has to justify itself. It reads and writes real campaigns, works with Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Perplexity, and exposed roughly 29 tools at launch, a count Meta itself does not publish. It is free during the beta with no announced pricing after.

Google's official Ads MCP is a different animal. Released October 7, 2025 as open source, it is read-only, exposes 3 tools, and you host it yourself with your own developer token. Useful for reporting queries, no help for execution.

Quick answer: are the free official MCPs enough?

For a single-platform power user, often yes. Meta's server does more raw Meta work than any paid tool here, for nothing. What it cannot do is see across platforms or into your store, every question is answered in Meta's own vocabulary about Meta's own walled garden, and the beta carries no pricing promise.

The Paid Multi-Platform Field

Pipeboard focuses on breadth. It supports Meta, Google, TikTok, Snap and Reddit, along with GA4 and Google Merchant Center, offering more than 120 MCP tools. The free plan includes 30 executions per week, while Pro costs $29.90/month. Pipeboard also states that customers manage more than $400 million in monthly ad spend through the platform, and it holds Badged Meta Business Partner status.

Adspirer supports six advertising platforms, including Amazon Ads, and meters by tasks rather than spend: a free plan of 15 tasks a month, then Plus, Pro and Max tiers running up to 3,000 tasks, listed at roughly $47 to $193 a month when we checked, with overage billing on the lower tiers. Its listed prices moved between our checks, so confirm on its pricing page before deciding.

Markifact combines workflow automation with MCP connectivity. It integrates with Shopify, the major advertising networks, analytics tools and CRMs, and its own site lists more than 500 operations across reporting and campaign management. Pricing starts at $79/month on a credit-based model, making it better suited to automated workflows than simple campaign management.

Ryze sells an $89 a month Paid Ads Autopilot with an MCP connector for Google, Meta and GA4. Whether the MCP is available standalone is not clear from its public pages, so treat it as part of the bundle.

How to Choose

Match the tool to the job, not the feature list:

Competitor creative research is AdKit's home turf. Nothing else here has the ad library.

Multi-platform campaign control from chat points to Pipeboard on price or Adspirer for Amazon coverage.

Deep automation across many channels is Markifact's workflow angle.

Free single-platform power is Meta's official MCP, as long as beta terms suit you.

A Shopify store asking "how are my ads actually doing" is a different question, and it is the one Agency AI's MCP was built to answer.

Where Agency AI Fits

Agency AI approaches the MCP from the opposite direction to everything above. The others connect your AI to ad platforms. Agency AI connects it to your ad performance in the context of your store, because the MCP rides on an app that already manages your Meta and Google campaigns from inside Shopify.

You add s.agencyai.app/mcp as a connector in Claude on the Max plan, or in ChatGPT on Business, Enterprise or Edu workspaces, and ask about live campaign performance, budget recommendations, ROAS, CPA and spend pacing without opening a dashboard.

Today it is analysis and strategy; the company says campaign actions like launching and pausing are rolling out next. It claims 80% fewer tokens than the raw Meta and Google MCPs, its own number, from pre-computed marketing data rather than raw API responses.

The pricing logic is the real differentiator: there is no separate MCP fee. The $59 a month, after a 30 day free trial, buys the ad management platform, the 90+ rule agentic engine coordinating Meta and Google as one funnel, the AI creative studio, and the MCP together. You are not paying for a connector, you are paying for the system the connector talks to.

Final Thoughts

The ads MCP field splits into three honest categories: free official power tools with walled-garden vision, paid multi-platform connectors priced per call or per project, and store-native context.

AdKit is a strong competitor-intel product with a fair flat price. If your daily question is "what are my competitors running", it earns its keep. If your daily question is "are my ads making my store money", the connector that can see your store answers it better.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a free alternative to adkit?
Two official ones. Meta's Ads MCP (open beta since April 2026) reads and writes Meta campaigns free, and Google's open source Ads MCP (October 2025) handles read-only Google reporting if you self-host it with a developer token. Neither covers competitor creative research, which is AdKit's core.
Do ads MCP servers work with ChatGPT as well as claude?
Mostly yes, but check tiers. Meta's official MCP supports ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code and Perplexity. Agency AI's MCP works with Claude Max and with ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu workspaces. Every MCP requires your own AI subscription on top of the tool itself.
What is the best MCP server for a Shopify store?
Depends on the job. For managing campaigns across five platforms from chat, Pipeboard covers the most for the least. For store-aware answers about ROAS, CPA and budgets, Agency AI is the only one here whose context is your Shopify store rather than the ad platform alone. Markifact lists Shopify as one of many integrations.
How do I connect Meta ads to claude?
Fastest free route: add Meta's official MCP at mcp.facebook.com/ads as a connector. For store-level context, add s.agencyai.app/mcp on a Claude Max plan. Both are paste-the-URL setups in Claude's connector settings, no code.
Can these tools change my campaigns without asking?
The good ones are explicit about this. AdKit defaults every agent action to a draft you approve in its dashboard. Agency AI's MCP is analysis-only today. With raw read-and-write MCPs like Meta's official server, the guardrails are whatever your agent setup enforces, so grant write access deliberately.
